#Broncos will attempt to sign Phillip Lindsay if he goes undrafted. Would love to have former @RunRalphieRun star in the mix #Denver7

Lindsay is a 5’8”, 190lb running back who played his college ball at Colorado. During his four-year career at Colorado, he rushed for 1,474 yards and 14 touchdowns. He averaged 4.9 yards per carry and caught 117 receptions for 1,084 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

The Broncos are thin at running back, even after drafting two in the NFL Draft. They took Oregon’s Royce Freeman in the third-round and took Arkansas’s David Williams in the seventh round, but still need depth. With only four backs on the roster, there is room more one or two more once the draft ends.

Here is what NFL Draft Scout’s Dane Brugler had to say about Lindsay.

SUMMARY: A three-year starter at Colorado, Lindsay took over as the starting running back as a sophomore and improved his production each season as the Buff’s featured back, finishing second all-time at CU in rushing yards (3,770), behind only Eric Bieniemy. A three-year captain, he was a winner of the school’s heart award and can be a “culture changer” in the locker room, according to his coaches. Lindsay runs with soft feet/strong cuts, jetting through holes with secondary burst to attack the second level. He stayed healthy in college, but he touched the ball 880 times on offense and lacks the armor on his body to take NFL punishment. Overall, Lindsay doesn’t have traditional build for the position and needs to improve in pass protection, but he runs with his feet on fire and will make it tough on a NFL head coach to keep him off the roster.

Lindsay is a bit undersized, but could find himself a role in the NFL as a scat back, but he appears to be a long shot to make an NFL roster.
